Notes	per DLO Capt John Cockey Owings, s/o Joshua Owings & Mary Cockey, fisrt came to KY from VA over the Appalachian Mountains. He did alot of land speculation & started the Iron Works that his son, Col Thomas Deye Owings, took over. The Iron Works made every day utensils for use & at one point bullets for Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans & cannonballs for the US Navy.
